sharing place for Christians bearing the cross of mental illness or
a mood disorder of either themselves or in a beloved. "Mood disorder"
generally refers to depression, manic depression, anxiety or similar
challenges. You are welcome, as you are, to be yourself! *** This list is named after St. Dymphna, the Patron Saint of Mental Illness. She gives a lot of hope to those of us who are not in pristine condition mentally, but who nevertheless (or because of our mental illness) can achieve great sanctity. *** Mental health is not a prerequisite for holiness. Thus, SCI-Dymphna is a list where we come together to discuss mood disorders, etc., in relation to the Christian Faith. All faiths, not just Catholic, are welcome! God meets each of us exactly where we are, and gives us the graces we need to live our lives into and toward sanctity. We can meet here as a group of friends to share, vent, talk ... but please no flaming!
